Lohithadas was a filmmaker who gave Malayalam cinema several memorable films. Following his passing, there had been reports that his family encountered financial struggles. His son, Harikrishnan Lohithadas, is also active in the film industry. He recently worked as the cinematographer for the film Dheeran. In a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies, Harikrishnan shared some heartfelt memories about his father.

“When my father passed away, those who were with us were also going through tough financial times. Still, we received help from within the film industry. It was Dileepettan who paid for my education. When I went to study cinematography, I didn’t own a camera. It was Mammookka who bought me a camera and even some clothes. The camera I use to this day is the same one Mammookka gave me,” he said.

“They gave me a direction in life. They helped me because they respected my father. Even now, they check in on how we’re doing. My father shared a deep bond with director Sibi Malayil and Mohanlal. During the shooting of the film 'Joker', starring Dileep, there was no specially arranged circus tent for the shoot. Since the circus wasn’t running at that time, my father filmed using the actual tent in place. But many assumed it was a set created just for the movie. My younger brother and I spent many days there and got to watch the circus shows for free,” Harikrishnan recalled.
