The life of Narain Karthikeyan, the first Indian driver to compete in Formula One, is being made into a film. The Tamil film is being directed by Mahesh Narayanan. No further details about the film have been released.
Narain Karthikeyan, a native of Coimbatore, raced in Formula One, the highest competition in motor racing, from 2005 to 2012. He made his debut for the Jordan Formula One team. He also participated in motor sports tournaments such as Auto GP and Super GT. He won the Padma Shri award in 2010.
The film has been tentatively titled NK370, according to national media. Narain told Variety that it was motorsport that gave him everything, and this film is about sharing that story with the world. Mahesh Narayanan said that Narain Karthikeyan's life journey is not just about racing. The director added that his life is about faith in yourself and the country, and the dream that no one else can see.
Shalini Usha Devi, who wrote the script for Soorarai Pottru, is writing NK370. The film is currently being developed at Blue Marble Films and will be produced by Faraz Ahsan, Vivek Rangachari and Prateek Maitra, reported Telegraph India.
Mahesh Narayanan, who is also a noted film editor and screenwriter, is the director of films like Take Off, See You Soon and Malik. Mahesh Narayanan's upcoming film is Patriot, which stars Mohanlal and Mammootty. Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban and Grace Antony are the other stars in the film.
