'No smartphone, using a keypad phone'; Fahadh Faasil on his unique phone choice and social media habits

Actor Fahadh Faasil has revealed that he hasn’t been using a smartphone for the past year. He opened up about choosing a keypad phone and his social media habits in an interview given to a media outlet. He stated that whatever he needs on the phone is available on his iPad and computer.

Fahadh uses a keypad model from the world-famous brand Vertu, which is more expensive than most modern smartphones. The phone supports 3G/quad-band GSM and comes with features like Bluetooth, GPRS, SMS, MMS, and 24/7 concierge services available in over 170 countries.

He also spoke candidly about his limited use of social media. “I mainly use the phone for projects. I do this to keep my personal life private and to ensure that no pictures from home are shared publicly. I often tell Nazriya that my dream is to become someone who can only be reached via email within the next two years. I never thought the phone I use would become such a topic of discussion,” the actor said in the interview.

Fahadh also mentioned that he doesn’t know how to post updates or reply to comments on social media. When asked by the interviewer whether staying away from social media would make him disconnected, Fahadh jokingly replied that he would only be left out if he made bad movies. He added that as long as he makes good films, audiences will always remember him. When the interviewer asked if he had WhatsApp, Fahadh replied that he did not.
