Class 1 student dies after falling from autrickshaw

MALAPPURAM: A tragic accident claimed the life of a Class One student who was thrown from an autorickshaw driven by her father. The deceased has been identified as Faiza (6), daughter of Faizal and Balkees, residents of Puramannur, Valanchery. The incident occurred in Tirur, Malappuram, around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The accident took place when the autorickshaw hit a pothole on the road, causing the child, who was seated on her mother’s lap in the rear seat, to be thrown onto the road. Faiza was a Class 1 student of Puramannur U.P. School.

The mishap occurred on Chamravattom Road, in front of the Poongottukulam Hypermarket. The child was immediately taken to a private hospital in Tirur and later shifted to another private hospital in Kottakkal; however, efforts to save her life proved unsuccessful.

A relative of Faizal and Balkees is currently undergoing treatment at Tirur District Hospital. The accident occurred while the family was returning home after visiting the relative at the hospital. Faiza is survived by her brothers, Fazil and Ansil.
