ALAPPUZHA: The remains of a burnt body were found in the compound of a house in Pallipuram, Cherthala. The remains were found in the house compound of Sebastian, who is a suspect in the missing cases of Bindu Padmanabhan and Jayamma. The remains of the body were found while the Crime Branch was investigating the disappearance case.

The Crime Branch had approached the court seeking a lie detector test for the main accused Sebastian in the disappearance of Bindu Padmanabhan, who went missing from Alungal in Kadakkarappally, Cherthala.

The investigation was initiated following a complaint filed by Praveen Kumar in September 2017, stating that Padmanabha Pillai's daughter Bindu Padmanabhan was missing. Three cases were registered in connection with the incident. Sebastian, a real estate broker, was named as the first accused in the cases.

During the investigation by the police and the Crime Branch, it was found that Bindu, who went missing, had been in a close relationship with Sebastian since 2003 and had visited Sebastian's house in Pallipuram several times.

The Crime Branch report submitted to the court states that Sebastian's background is mysterious and that there are witness statements that Sebastian, who was financially backward before meeting Bindu, has improved his financial situation after Bindu's disappearance. Moreover, he has given contradictory statements to various investigating officers. The demand was to conduct a polygraph test to clarify this.
