Minister’s FB post
Our school vacation in Kerala is presently in the months of April and May. It is a fact that the intense heat experienced in the state during these months often causes difficulties for children. Meantime, due to heavy rains during the monsoon period of June and July, schools remain closed and studies are disrupted.
In this context, a public discussion is being initiated on shifting the school vacation from April, May to the rainy months of June and July. The idea of May-June is also emerging. I would like to know your valuable opinions and suggestions on this issue.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of implementing this change? How will this affect the studies and health of children? How practical will it be for teachers and parents? How can we model the vacation arrangements in other states and countries?
Please register your opinions and suggestions as comments. I believe this will help start a constructive discussion on this issue.
Looking forward to your participation.
With love
V Sivankutty
