Elderly woman dies after falling from bus in Thrissur

THRISSUR: In a tragic incident, an elderly woman died after falling from a moving bus. The victim, Nalini from Poovathur, was travelling on the ‘Johnny’s’ bus to Poovathur when the incident took place at around 10:20 a.m.

According to reports, Nalini boarded the bus at the Poochakkunnu stop, and the conductor closed the door immediately afterwards. She initially stood holding the rod behind the driver, but when informed of an available seat at the back, she began walking toward it. As the bus took a turn, she lost her balance and was flung toward the door. The conductor tried to grab her hand but failed. She hit the door, which then swung open, causing her to fall outside and hit her head. The bus was stopped immediately, and Nalini was rushed to the hospital, but her life could not be saved. CCTV footage of the accident has been released.
