Teacher dismissed for mental and physical abuse of children; revenge for reporting abusive teacher, says dismissed Smija Suresh

KOLLAM: Teacher dismissed on the grounds of mental and physical abuse of children. Thalavoor Govt. UP School Pre-Primary Teacher Smija Suresh was dismissed.

The PTA President issued the dismissal order as per the decision of the PTA Executive Committee held on 8th. Smija Suresh has been working here since December 11, 2024. Her salary is Rs. 12,500 provided by the PTA. She was given a show-cause notice regarding serious misconduct on the part of the teacher. The PTA's explanation is that no satisfactory reply was received for the notice.

Charges against the teacher

• Excessive use of phone during class
• Threatening children that parents who complain will be jailed
• Not taking part in the academic activities of the Varnakoodaram project
• Leaving school before students leave
• Not using smart classroom

"I had taken a picture of another teacher in the school hitting a child and showed it to the head teacher. This is the revenge for that. I am not guilty."
