ATM robbery attempt in city, migrant worker arrested

KOZHIKODE: A major ATM robbery attempt in the city. The robbery attempt was at the ATM of SBI in Kalanthod, Kozhikode. The incident happened Tuesday early morning at around 2.30 am. The night patrolling team caught the accused who attempted the robbery. Babul of Assam has been arrested. The police concluded that no money was lost from the ATM.

Babul arrived in the area two months ago. He had been living in a rented house nearby. He had been living here under the pretext of being a painting worker. The police said that he had been planning the robbery for two months.

The police officers on night patrolling grew suspicious and came near the ATM and checked it. In the meanwhile, the accused came out after opening the shutter. Babul tried to run away on seeing the police, but the police bravely subdued him.
