NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Pakistan that India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail. The country has become self-sufficient. The Prime Minister clarified that the country is ready to face any threat and that India's armed forces have surprised the enemies. He was addressing the nation after hoisting the national flag at the Red Fort.
The Prime Minister also clarified that there is no re-thinking in the Indus River Water Treaty. The treaty was an injustice to the people of India. The rivers of India were irrigating
the enemy when our farmers were deprived of water. He said the right over India’s share of water belongs only to India and its farmers. Water and blood cannot flow together, he said.
Modi also mentioned about Operation Sindoor saying that it is an expression of the country's anger. The army has done unimaginable things for the country. The Prime Minister said that what Atma Nirbhar Bharat is has been proven through Operation Sindoor and that India's nuclear power capacity has increased tenfold. Our enemies did not have much understanding of 'Made in India', but proved that strength through Operation Sindoor, he added.
The Prime Minister also announced that GST reforms will be implemented as a Diwali gift. GST rates will be reduced. This will be a big relief for the common man, he said. This is Narendra Modi's 12th Independence Day speech from the Red Fort.
