Holiday declared for educational institutions in Thrissur tomorrow; Onam exams postponed

THRISSUR: A holiday has been declared for all educational institutions, including professional colleges in Thrissur, tomorrow (August 18) as a precautionary measure, following heavy rainfall in the district. The holiday applies to all educational institutions, including CBSE, ICSE, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Anganwadis, Madrasas and tuition centres. The Onam exams, to be held tomorrow, have been postponed. A new date will be announced soon.

There will be no change in other exams and interviews scheduled in advance.

Students are requested to stay at home and not go into water bodies. The district collector advised the student to make the most of the holiday to prepare for the exams.

Heavy rains will continue in the northern districts of Kerala. An orange alert was issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Monday. Yellow alert in Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts. Residents of hilly, riverside and coastal areas should be vigilant. Strong winds are also possible. Fishing is not allowed on the Kerala coast.
