THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The free food kits provided by the state government on the occasion of Onam will be distributed from tomorrow. This time, 6,03,291 food kits containing 15 items will be distributed. The kits will be provided to 5,92,657 yellow card holders and inmates of welfare institutions. One kit will be provided to four inmates of the welfare institution. In this way, 10,634 kits will be provided. The state-level inauguration of the kit distribution will be performed by Minister G.R. Anil at 9.30 am on Tuesday at the Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat Hall.
The kit contains sugar (one kilo), coconut oil (half a liter), semolina (250 grams), chickpeas (250 grams), broad beans (250 grams), cashew nuts (50 grams), Milma ghee (50 grams), tea powder (250 grams), payasam mix (200 grams), sambar powder (100 grams), chili powder (100 grams), turmeric powder (100 grams), coriander powder (100 grams), salt (one kilo), and a cloth bag. The cost of one kit is around Rs. 710. The total cost is Rs. 42,83,36,610.
