Lakshmi Menon's friend is member of quotation gang; mystery looms large over actress's involvement in abduction case

KOCHI: Mystery continues to loom large over the incident in which actress Lakshmi Menon and her friends allegedly abducted and physically assaulted a youth in Kochi. Investigations have revealed that one of the men who was with the actress is linked to a quotation gang. According to the police, Lakshmi's friend Midhun Mohan (35), a native of North Paravur, has a criminal history and was previously involved in a gold theft case and other offences.

Along with Midhun, the police also arrested Aneesh and Changanassery native Sona Mol (25) in connection with the incident. Aneesh, too, has a criminal background, the police said. Meanwhile, the High Court has stayed Lakshmi Menon's arrest in the case. The gang allegedly abducted the youth and physically assaulted him following a dispute at a bar in Kochi. The actress's involvement in the case came to light after the youth filed a complaint with the police, leading to the arrest of three people.

Lakshmi reportedly went into hiding following the youth's complaint. Midhun Mohan's involvement in criminal cases came to light when the police checked his background following the arrest. In 2023, he was part of a gang that abducted a gold merchant by posing as policemen and stole 244 grams of gold from him.
