KOLLAM: There are 46 wounds on the body of Thevalakkara native Athulya, who was found hanging in a flat in Sharjah. This was clarified in the re-postmortem report conducted at Paripally Medical College Hospital. The report also states that many of the wounds were from hours before death to a week old.
Athulya's postmortem in Dubai recorded that she died by hanging. The re-postmortem at Paripally Medical College revealed that she died by strangulation. This strengthens the family's allegation that Athulya's death was a murder. In addition, footage of Athulya being brutally beaten by her husband Sathish had also come to light. On the 8th of this month, the court will consider the investigation team's request to cancel Satheesh's anticipatory bail and remand him in custody for questioning based on the re-postmortem report and the visuals.
Forensic examination of visuals
Sathish claims that the visuals that have come out are not recent. However, Athulya's family claims that some visuals are from the day before her death. The Dubai Police have not received Athulya's phone, which was used to record the visuals. The investigation team has requested the Dubai Police's investigation report in the case from the Dubai government through the Central Prosecution Authority of India. Athulya, a native of Thevalakkara Koivila, was found hanging in her flat in Sharjah on July 19. Although her husband, Satish, who is accused in the case, returned home, the court had granted him anticipatory bail.
