THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused who stabbed a Tamil Nadu native in a dispute at a flower shop on Thiruvonam Day has been arrested. The incident took place at the Sneha Flower Mart flower shop at Nedumangad Kacheri Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. Anees Kumar (36), a native of Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu, was stabbed. The police arrested Kumar, known as Kattappa, an employee of the shop, in the incident. The incident took place at around 1 pm on Thiruvonam Day. The accused, who had gone absconding, was caught in the evening.
It is said that a financial dispute over the flowers given to the shop owner Rajan, is what led to the attack, but this has not been confirmed. Anees Kumar, who arrived at the shop in the afternoon, demanded money for the flowers he had distributed, and an argument ensued. At this time, Kumar, an employee in the shop, attacked Anees with scissors used to cut flowers.
Kumar stabbed Anees in the chest with scissors. Anees Kumar, who was seriously injured, was admitted to the Nedumangad District Hospital but was later shifted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. The shop owner, Rajan, was taken into custody by the police. 'Kattappa' Kumar, who was absconding, was later caught from the Nedumangad market area.
