THALASSERY: 'Winners should not make fun of those who lost'. This was the answer of third-grader Ahan to the question 'Write the rules for a game you like. This boy has become a star on social media after Minister V Sivankutty shared the suggestion that opened the eyes of even adults.
Ahan is a student of O Chandu Menon Memorial Government UP School in Valiyamadavil, Thalassery. The question was to prepare five rules for his favourite game. The rules for the balloon-smashing competition were given as a model.
Ahan prepared the rules of the 'Spoon and Orange' competition. As the fifth rule, he wrote, 'Winners should not make fun of those who lost'. Ahan's suggestion is thought-provoking at a time when one must listen to the criticism of people even for a small defeat.
This smart boy has become the pride of the Government UP School, where 560 students study. Ahan is the only son of Mahe Pandakkal native Anoop Kumar and Kerala Kaumudi Thalassery writer Nimya Narayanan.
It will make them sad...
Minister V Sivankutty contacted Ahan via a video call. "The ones who lost will be sad if they are mocked; that's not necessary." This was Ahan's reply to the minister for writing such an answer.
Ahan also put forward the need for a playground in his school. Sivankutty ended the phone conversation with the assurance that it would definitely be considered next year.
