THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal intensifying into a deep depression, Kerala is once again facing a rain threat. The deep depression made landfall near Gopalpur on the Odisha coast. As a result, heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The deep depression is also expected to bring heavy showers to the northern districts of Kerala.

Meanwhile, a thunderstorm and rain alert has been issued in Kerala for the next two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the state could receive rain with thunderstorms today and tomorrow.
