KOCHI: The Onam bumper lucky winner was confirmed to be a Nettoor native woman. She reportedly preferred to remain anonymous and is not keen on meeting the media. As of now, her house is locked from the outside, and she is believed to have moved to her daughter’s house.

“She is not someone who often tries her luck with the lottery. It was only because of the hype on the Onam bumper that she bought the ticket. Yesterday, she came to the shop but walked back seeing the crowd and rush,” said Lottery agent Latheesh.

The winner will have to give 10 per cent commission to the agent, that is 2.5 crores. Then the price tax is 30 per cent, that is, Rs 6.75 crores. In addition to this, the surcharge on the tax amount is 37 per cent; that is about Rs 2.49 crores. Health and education cess is four per cent, 36.9 lakhs. The total tax on the amount received in the account is Rs 2.85 crores. So, after all the taxes, the lucky winner will get 12,88,25,000 rupees (12.8 crores).
