Youths attack elderly man for not giving way to vehicle

KANNUR: In a fit of rage, youths brutally attacked an elderly man in the middle of the road. A dispute for not giving way to a vehicle ended in the attack. Balakrishnan of Azhikkal was attacked brutally. The incident happened in Azhikkal on Sunday evening at 4 pm. Balakrishnan has filed a police complaint.

The visuals of the attack are being circulated on social media. Youths brutally thrashed the elderly, who was on the driver’s seat. The youths then pulled him out of the car and slapped him on his face. The youths can be seen attacking him again when he entered into a shop. The locals then intervened and repelled the youths.

The youths are heard saying in the video that the elderly man hurled abuses at them when they questioned him for not giving way. The video was captured by the youths themselves. The police have registered a case on the complaint of Balakrishnan and an investigation has started. The police have collected evidence. The accused have not been nabbed so far. The police are investigating whether they have any criminal background.
