KANNUR: About ten shops were completely gutted in a fire that broke out at the Taliparamba commercial complex. The fire broke out at the toy shop in the KV Complex near the Taliparamba bus stand around 5 pm today. The fire soon spread to other shops nearby. There are no reports of casualties. It is reported that the fire spread to about fifty establishments in the two complexes.

The shops affected also include clothing and mobile shops. The situation was aggravated by the explosion of gas cylinders in the shops.
