Gurudeva's All-Religious Conference makes history in Australia

MELBOURNE: The Victorian Parliament complex in Melbourne, Australia, was filled with the fragrance of Sree Narayana Darshan today. The centenary conference of the Aluva All-Religious Conference, held today at the Central Hall of Parliament, assessed that the vision of Sree Narayana can lead a world filled with conflict in the name of religion, color and nation to peace and that Guru's concept of one world is exemplary.

Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan, who inaugurated the All-Religious Conference, said that efforts will be made to spread Guru's teachings among the people of Victoria from different religious and ethnic groups. In his introductory speech, Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda clarified that Guru's mission was to guide people who are fighting each other in the name of religion to understanding. Sree Narayana Guru Deva is a great guru who saw the future crises of the world and that relying on Guru is the only way to achieve world peace.

The ceremony was led by Swami Sachidananda and Guru devotees from Sivagiri. The representative of the Catholic Church of Ukraine, Mykola Cardinal Bychok, and the General Secretary of the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust, Swami Shubhangananda, spoke.

Representatives of 16 religions attended the conference. The ceremony began with the singing of Daiva Daśakam by Divya Murugesh. Jacinta Allan, Swami Sachidananda, Swami Shubhangananda, Dr Shashi Tharoor MP and Chandy Oommen MLA paid floral tributes to the portrait of Gurudeva.

This is the first time that a discussion on Gurudarshan is being held at this place. Chandy Oommen MLA gave the closing address. Victorian MP and Government Chief Whip Lee Tarlamis welcomed the gathering and Australia India Business and Cultural Council (Australia) President Anil Kolanukonda gave the vote of thanks.

Global Harmony Award presented to Sivagiri Mutt

Recognizing the contemporary relevance of Gurudeva's messages, the Australian Government presented the Sree Narayana Guru Global Harmony Award to Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Sachidananda, General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda, Former General Secretary Swami Rithambharananda, Former Treasurer Swami Vishalananda, Swami Dharmachaitanya, Swami Asanganandagiri and Swami Veereshwarananda received the award. This is the first time that a foreign country has presented such an award to Sivagiri Mutt.
