Orange alert in two districts, Ernakulam warned; Kerala braces for heavy rainfall in coming hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department warned of heavy rains in the state in the coming hours. According to the warning issued at 6.45 pm today, an orange alert has been issued for Malappuram and Kozhikode districts for the next three hours. Along with the rain, strong winds with a speed of up to 50 kmph are possible.

An orange alert was issued for the Ernakulam district tomorrow, warning of very heavy rains. A yellow alert was issued for seven districts tomorrow - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Thrissur.

20-10-2025: Wayanad, Kannur

The National Centre for Oceanographic Studies and Research (INCOIS) warned about the possibility of the Kallakadal phenomenon, which will cause high waves of 0.9 to 1.1 meters along the coast of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala till 11.30 pm tomorrow and 1.1 to 1.4 meters along the coast of Kanyakumari district till 08.30 pm tomorrow.
