MYSURU: A young farmer sustained serious injuries in a tiger attack. The incident happened in Badagalapura village in Saragur taluk of Mysuru, Karnataka. The injured farmer has been identified as Mahadev (34). The footage of the tiger attack that happened on Thursday is now going viral on social media. The video shows the farmers of the village running and climbing a tree to escape from the tiger.

The video shows the tiger emerging from the bushes and attacking a group of farmers working in the fields. Most of them climbed trees to escape from the animal. However, Mahadev, who fell while running, was attacked by the tiger and seriously injured. Eyewitnesses said the tiger dragged him along the ground and injured his head and face. Mahadev, who is undergoing treatment, is in critical condition.

The villagers are living in fear as the tiger is seen in the area from time to time. Although the authorities were informed about this earlier, the villagers alleged that the forest department started efforts to catch the tiger only when one person was injured. They said that this accident could have been avoided if steps had been taken earlier. Forest department officials said the tiger will be captured soon. Officials said Kumki elephants and drones have been deployed in the area.
