Student killed after being hit by train while walking near railway tracks

KOLLAM: A student died after being hit by a train at Karunagapalli in Kollam. The accident happened Thursday morning at 9.15 am. The dead is Gargi Devi of Kollam.

Gargi was walking along the track when the Kollam MEMU passed. The police' initial conclusion is that the girl with earphones plugged in, could not hear the whistle of the train as she was walking near the railway track. She is a second-year computer engineering student at IHRD Model Polytechnic College in Karunagappalli.
