'Will teach about Hedgewar and Savarkar in Kerala, those not interested needn’t study’; challenges Surendran

KOZHIKODE: Former BJP state president K Surendran said the national education policy will be fully implemented in Kerala. He also said Education Minister V Sivankutty has understood the importance of the national education policy. Let Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan say whether there was any deal in the Kerala government signing the PM Shri project, said Surendran while addressing the press meet organized in the district.

'With the signing of the PM Shri project, Hedgewar and Savarkar will now be taught in schools in Kerala. Those who don't want to study these things, need not study. The national education policy will now be implemented in Kerala in its full sense. There will also be central intervention in the curriculum reform. Let Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan say whether there is any deal in signing the PM Shri agreement. I don't know if there is any deal with the center.

Only Pinarayi Vijayan and Minister Sivankutty in the CPM knew about signing the agreement. Even other ministers of the CPM did not know about signing the agreement. Sivankutty has understood the importance of the national education policy. I think the chief minister will also understand it. The CPI will bark but will not bite on this issue. The CPI is a party that doesn’t have a stand.

Signing the PM Shri project is the right stand. The Left had disrupted this project for four years. The government should apologize for delaying its implementation for four years. The PM Shri project is a stepping stone towards the national education policy. M V Govindan said the national education policy will not be implemented even though signing the project. Through this, M V Govindan is committing another deception,' said Surendran.
