THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Passengers have complained that they were not served food on the Kasaragod-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat train despite paying for it. The passengers who complained about not being served food were those who boarded from Ernakulam last night. The passengers said that they paid for food when they booked their tickets itself. When they asked for food after boarding the train, they were initially told that food would be delivered. Passengers said that they had a dispute after not getting food after a long time.

However, the authorities clarified that those who make 'current bookings' are given 'ready-to-eat' food. Food is not prepared in Vande Bharat. Food is prepared and delivered from outside for those who have booked tickets in advance. Officials said that those who buy 'current booking tickets' at the last minute are served food that can be prepared and eaten quickly. Officials said that the dispute was caused by those who bought current booking tickets yesterday demanding the same food as that served to other passengers.
