Twin brothers found dead in temple pond; suspected to have gone fishing

PALAKKAD: Twin brothers were found dead in a temple pond at Chittur in Palakkad. The victims are Raman and Lakshman, sons of Kasi Viswanathan of Chittur. Both were aged 14. The two were students of Chittur Boys High School and were in the seventh standard.

The two had gone missing last evening. The two, who left home in an electric scooter Saturday evening, went to Lankeswaram Shiva Temple and lit the lamps. They went missing after that. A search conducted found Raman’s dress at the bathing ghat of the temple pond. A search by the fire force first got the body of Lakshman and then Raman’s body.

The two didn’t know swimming and so may have drowned. Police suspect that the two may have gone to fish. The brothers have a sister.
