KOCHI: The High Court has amended the anticipatory bail conditions of rapper Vedan (Hirandas Murali) in the case of molesting a female doctor by promising marriage. The condition that Vedan should not travel abroad without the permission of the court has been removed. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas' action was in response to a petition filed by Vedan in the wake of invitations to musical events abroad. The High Court had earlier relaxed the bail conditions in the case of assaulting a research student. With this, the obstacles to Vedan's foreign travel have been removed.

The investigation into the case registered by the Thrikkakara police on the complaint of a female doctor had been completed and a final report had been submitted to the Kakkanad court. The High Court assessed that the restrictions shall not be continued in this situation.

However, a new provision has been added to ensure that the accused is present for the charge and trial. The accused must provide travel details to the investigating officer one week before each foreign trip. An affidavit must be filed detailing passport details, phone number used abroad, route travelled, and places of stay.
