'Ignorance and male chauvinist tendencies are unfortunate'; some will never learn, says Gouri Kishan

CHENNAI: Actress Gouri Kishan responded to YouTuber R S Karthik's stand of not apologizing for body shaming her during the promotion of her new film. The actress said that some people will never learn and that ignorance and male chauvinist tendencies are unfortunate. Gouri asked on social media whether it is possible to stoop so low.

Karthik had told a Tamil media that he would not apologize for asking director Abin Hariharan about her height and weight. The YouTuber's justification is that he is one having 32 years of experience and did not ask anything wrong. Karthik alleged that her response was a PR stunt. 'It was Gouri who called him an idiot. If we say that the actor lifted the actress, four more will come. It was asked to be jovial. Should we ask her about Trump and Modi? That's why the other media there laughed,' said Karthik.

Meantime, Tamil film actors’ organization Nadigar Sangam also came forward with a response to the body-shaming remark against Gouri. The Nadigar Sangam informed that the incident is extremely regrettable and strongly condemned the incident. The organization has also informed that action will be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring. The Chennai Press Club had also come forward condemning the YouTuber's act.
