PATNA: Internal problems have intensified in the family of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav after the massive defeat in the Bihar elections. Three more daughters left the Patna home today following Lalu's daughter Rohini Acharya's public outburst that she was quitting politics and disowning her family. Rajalakshmi, Ragini and Chanda left their Patna residence with their children and went to Delhi.
Lalu's Singapore-based daughter, Dr Rohini Acharya, was the first to announce that she was leaving politics and severing ties with her family. This was after the RJD's electoral defeat. Rohini had alleged that her family members had said that she had 'donated her bad kidney to dad, in exchange for money and a ticket'. She had criticized them for saying that no daughter or sister like her should be born in any family. Rohini Acharya claimed she was humiliated, abused, and effectively "thrown out" of the family because she did not compromise on her self-respect and questioned the party's performance and internal power dynamics after its recent electoral defeat. She alleged that Tejashwi Yadav's close aides, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat Khan, were behind the family feud and the mistreatment she faced.
Meanwhile, Rohini's elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav, who had already left the RJD and formed a new party, had come out in support of Rohini. He wrote in the X that he had endured many attacks against him, but the humiliation faced by his sister was unbearable.
