Amoebic meningoencephalitis: Houswife undergoing treatment dies

PAYYOLI: A housewife who was undergoing treatment for amoebic meningoencephalitis (amoebic brain fever) has died. Sarasu (58), from Tholeri in Thurayur, passed away early yesterday morning. She had been admitted to the Medical College Hospital after showing symptoms of amoebic brain fever and had been under treatment for about a month.

She is survived by her father Variyan, mother Kalyani, husband Chandran, son Nidhin, and siblings Surendran, Sureshbabu, Pradeepan, Rajan, and Rajani.
