THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister Suresh Gopi has said that the mindset of people has changed. He added that issues like the gold scam or other controversies will not affect the public and that it is the people who must prepare for the elections. He was speaking at a BJP campaign event in Sashthamangalam, Thiruvananthapuram.

“We must fully use the determination that came through the change in mindset. The ruling party and the opposition are trying to create controversies with the help of the media. The gold scam or any other allegations will not influence people. Cooperative federalism has become a demon that harms the public. Some people ask why the Centre is not taking over Sabarimala. That is for the people to decide. If Sabarimala comes under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, these people won't even be able to touch anything there, let alone steal,” he said.

Suresh Gopi added that India will host the Olympics in 2036 and that Kerala must prepare for it. “Look at the present condition of Kochi International Stadium and Greenfield Stadium. Kerala needs a triple-engine government. Just having three meals a day does not give wisdom. Common sense is needed. Let people dream. Don’t try to crush those dreams. You cannot build a stadium with the bricks used for Attukal Pongala,” he said in a satirical tone.
