THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leaders have different opinions on the Ernakulam District Principal Sessions Court's verdict acquitting Dileep in the actor assault case. When senior leader Ramesh Chennithala came forward in support of the survivor, UDF convener Adoor Prakash took a stand in favour of Dileep. Adoor Prakash said Dileep has got justice in the case. He said that he has a close relationship with Dileep and is personally happy.

Adoor Prakash criticised the government for their statement of being with the survivor. He also lashed out at the government for their decision to go on appeal saying they have no other job. Adoor said this is a government that likes to frame and target people.

However, Chennithala said the Congress is not with the hunter, but with the survivor. Chennithala clarified that he will respond after reading the full verdict. When opposition leader V D Satheesan hailed the verdict convicting the six accused, KPCC President Sunny Joseph said the prosecution failed to prove the case.

V D Satheesan said the survivor faced a tragedy that should not have happened to any woman and that he is happy with the court verdict. Alleging that the prosecution failed to prove the case, Sunny Joseph said the failure to prove the conspiracy aspect was due to the failure of the police who investigated the case and the prosecution who presented the case in court. Sunny Joseph has refuted Adoor Prakash's statement. The Congress' stand is to appeal the case. Sunny Joseph said that he is not aware of Adoor Prakash's statement and that he will talk to him.

The allegation that the prosecution's failure to prove conspiracy in the case is strong. The court also found that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against Dileep, including criminal conspiracy and issuing a quotation for rape. It is surprising that senior Congress leaders have taken a stand on the issue despite having the opportunity to use this as a weapon against the government at a time when the assembly elections are approaching.

The intervention of Thrikkakara MLA P T Thomas was the most crucial in the case. He was adamant that the accused should not escape under any circumstances. This was revealed by his wife Uma Thomas MLA. Will PT's soul be satisfied with the verdict? Never. As the court proceedings continue, the concerns that the victim shared have been proven correct many times. Uma Thomas said that she is with her without any conditions.

Meantime, Left leaders also came forward against the stand of Adoor Prakash. V Sivankutty said Adoor Prakash's opinion is the official stance of their party. The government will approach the higher court in this case. The government is with the survivor then and now. He added that the people will decide whether Adoor Prakash's opinion is right. Senior CPM leader P K Sreemathy responded that the stand taken by Adoor is anti-women.

Actor Asif Ali responded that he is with the survivor in the case. Accepts the court verdict. If I say anything about the verdict, it will be contempt of court. My stand is that the survivor should get justice. It does not mean that anyone should be punished. The court has punished all those who need to be punished.
