KOCHI: Only 20 out of the 200 witnesses in the actor assault case had turned hostile, said the survivor’s lawyer T B Mini. She added that actor Siddique, one who turned hostile, is now enduring pain and many big actors would have been cornered if the entire Hema Committee report had been released. She said this in an interview with Samakalika Malayalam.

'Only 20 out of the 200 witnesses turned hostile. What is the situation of Siddique who retracted his statement now? Siddique may have money in his hand. His family may have accepted him, but lost his pride. This is a case that happened many years ago. That girl is incredibly strong and she couldn’t explain it due to the trauma. It was Edavala Babu who cheated her. If action had been taken on that complaint, then, this problem wouldn’t have arisen. If all the reports of the Hema Committee had been released, many top actors would have been cornered.

Due to the verdict in favor of Dileep in the case, not a single girl will dare to file a case anymore. The same thing happened in the Hema Committee report. Many appeared before Hema Committee thinking that they could go and tell a woman. Girls are being targeted in our society and men are welcomed.

The lawyer whom I told to have destroyed evidence on the phone in the case. The high court discharged him. However, in the appeal, he will be an accused, but he is now paralyzed,' said Mini.
