KOCHI: A clash broke out at a Chicking outlet over differences in the quantity of chicken strips in a burger. The police registered a case of assault in the incident. The incident took place at the Chicking outlet on MG Road, Kochi. The Ernakulam Central Police registered a case against the manager of Chicking for brandishing a knife and assaulting customers.

The clash broke out when four students, who had come to participate in the CBSE sports meet being held at the Maharaja's College grounds in Ernakulam, reached the outlet to have food. The students complained about the lack of chicken strips in one of the burgers, leading to an argument with the manager, Joshua, a native of Mundamveli. Joshua lost his cool when he saw one of the students filming the incident on his mobile phone.

One of them tried to hit the manager with a chair, while another tried to snatch away his phone. This led to Joshua hurrying to the desk to take hold of his knife. Attempts to alleviate Joshua by other staff did not work.

Joshua, who brandished a knife, stormed towards the students at the entrance of the shop but was subdued by the adults accompanying the students. Joshua was then beaten up by others. The video of the incident is now going viral on social media handles.
