
Renowned filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan recently announced his collaboration with actor Mammootty after almost three decades. Previously, when the two cinema veterans joined hands, critically acclaimed movies such as Anantaram (1987), Mathilukal (1990), Vidheyan (1994) were born.
The upcoming film will be the eighth to be produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, and Aliyar are the other leading actors. The story is by K.V. Mohan Kumar.
Amidst the news, reports suggest that South Indian superstar actress Nayanthara would play a prominent role in the new movie. Mammootty and Nayanthara have worked together in films like Thaskara Veeran, Rappakal, Bhaskar Da Raskal, and Puthya Niyamam.
Mammootty is starting 2026 with Director Ranjith’s new film. Mammootty will reenact the role of Karikkamuri Shanmughan from the 2005 movie ‘Black’. It is said that Mammootty will appear in a cameo role.
After completing the Adoor movie, Mammootty will join the sets of Dhanush's Tamil movie. The movie will be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
