Rishab Shetty to direct Randamoozham? new update is out

Randamoozham is an epic work in the history of Malayalam literature. Written by MT Vasudevan Nair, the novel retells the Mahabharata with Bhima as the central character. News about the novel being adapted into a film has been circulating for many years.

Now, fresh reports suggest that Kannada actor and director Rishab Shetty may direct the film adaptation of Randamoozham. However, there has been no official confirmation so far.

According to reports, discussions regarding the project were held with Rishab Shetty about one and a half years ago, based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s interest. It is expected that an official announcement about the film may be made this year.

Earlier, MT had signed an agreement with director Sreekumar Menon for the film adaptation. However, as the production was delayed, MT withdrew from the contract and took back the screenplay.

There were also reports earlier that Mohanlal would play the role of Bhima. If the film is now directed by Rishab Shetty, movie lovers are eager to know who will portray Bhima.

Sources say that Rishab Shetty is expected to visit Kozhikode soon, after which the official announcement of the film may be made in coordination with MT’s family.
