LUCKNOW: The controversy over Kolkata Knightriders buying Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman heated up as Hindu Mahasabha leader announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone who chops off the tongue of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The Bollywood superstar is one of the owners of the KKR team.
The statement was issued by Meera Thakur, former Agra district president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha.
“Our Hindu brothers are being burned alive in Bangladesh. Yet the owner of KKR has no shame as he continues to buy players from Bangladesh. We will not allow this,” said Meera Thakur.
Hindu Mahasabha workers poured black oil on Shah Rukh Khan's posters and hit him with shoes. Saints from Ayodhya and other places also criticised the inclusion of the Bangladeshi player in the IPL team. Swami Rambhadracharya called Shah Rukh not a hero, but an actor lacking personality.
All India Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri asked the superstar to respect the sentiments of the people.
A BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh had earlier criticised the actor and even called him a traitor.
