NEW DELHI: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has said that Operation Sindoor is still going on to respond resolutely to any future provocation by Pakistan. "Despite the threat of terrorism, the situation is under control in Jammu and Kashmir and along the border. The number of active local terrorists has reduced to single digits. Recruitment for terrorists has almost ended. However, the army remains vigilant. There are 100-150 terrorists in eight camps along the Pakistan border," he said at a press conference on the occasion of the Army's anniversary.

"India has asserted that the sighting of Pakistani drones on the border the other day is unacceptable and should not be repeated. This may have been to know whether terrorists can be sent to India. They must have understood that they cannot. Pakistan has not raised the nuclear threat in any military talks except in statements made by politicians. The first 22 minutes of the attack on terrorist camps in Operation Sindoor stunned Pakistan. Pakistan took time to understand what was happening. The Indian forces had also decided on the steps to be taken if the war escalated. Pakistan had requested a ceasefire, realising that it could not withstand India's land, sea and air advances."

"The drone strike capability was proven in Operation Sindoor. Drones with a range of 100 km should be manufactured as much as possible. Each command can manufacture 5,000 drones. The launch of Pakistan's Rocket Command is crucial. The power of rockets and missiles is also essential for us," he said.

Pak-China agreement illegal

India does not accept Chinese claims over Shaksgam valley in Jammu and Kashmir. India considers the 1963 Pak-China agreement illegal. The Ministry of External Affairs has made this clear. The Line of Actual Control with China is now calm.

Current medical standards and operational realities make it impossible to ensure complete gender neutrality in the military. Even some women officers said that it is difficult to maintain uniform standards during wartime. This may change in 3-4 years
