University College teacher dies after collapsing

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A college teacher collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Dr Hariprasad (44), Assistant Professor of Chemistry at University College, Thiruvananthapuram.

He was a native of Ottasekharamangalam, Neyyattinkara. He had earlier worked as a Chemistry teacher at Attingal Government College and Neyyattinkara Polytechnic College. He began his teaching career as a teacher at S.M.V. Higher Secondary School.

He is survived by his wife, Dr Aswathi, Assistant Surgeon at Bharanikavu PHC, Alappuzha, and their eight-month-old son, Shivatej. The funeral will be held at his residence today at 9 a.m.
