Production controller NM Badusha broke his silence on the serious allegations levelled by actor Hareesh Kanaran. The actor had earlier blamed Badusha for keeping him out of the industry and not returning Rs 20 lakh cash taken as credit.
Meanwhile, Badusha confirmed that he took just Rs 14 lakh from Hareesh and returned Rs 7 lakh upon demand. Badusha said that the rest of the money was considered his remuneration for managing the actor’s dates for 72 movies.
BADUSHA:
“Hareesh demanded more money when he was offered the role in ARM. The deal was for Rs five lakh, but Hareesh demanded Rs 15 lakh remuneration. The producer thus looked for another artist.
For five years, I managed Hareesh's dates for 72 movies. I took no remuneration from Hareesh, nor did he show the nicety to pay me. Suddenly, I went through dire straits and needed money. I requested money from Hareesh. I thought it would be considered as my remuneration for managing his dates in 72 movies. Two other artists understood my situation and helped me with Rs 20 lakh in financial assistance.
I don’t know why Hareesh turned against me. Maybe it is an attempt to stay in the limelight, as he is not getting enough movie offers these days.
After Hareesh’s allegation, my family faced a severe cyber-attack. My son started skipping college, while hate comments also reached my daughter’s profile. All this will be legally dealt with. I seriously doubt a conspiracy behind this. After the incident, I tried calling Hareesh but to no avail. Hareesh has been a troublemaker in many sets. It might be this reason that kept him out of movies. Not everyone can stay in the limelight forever. If new talents come to the forefront, the older generation should leave the stage.”
