
BENGALURU: Confident Group’s legal advisor Prakash has alleged that Income Tax officials are responsible for the death of prominent businessman C.J. Roy. He claimed that IT officials had been constantly pressurising Roy. Roy reportedly committed suicide at around 3.15 pm on Friday by shooting himself at his corporate office during an Income Tax raid. His funeral is scheduled for tomorrow in Bengaluru, and family members are expected to return from abroad tonight. The body has been moved to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem procedures.
The raid was conducted by IT officials from Kerala and has been ongoing for the past three days. City Police Commissioner Seemanthkumar Singh stated that authorities will seek further details from the officials involved. Police have taken C.J. Roy’s two mobile phones and the gun used in the suicide into custody. Investigations are underway to determine whether a suicide note existed, and social media activity is also being examined as part of the probe.
