SHIMLA: A retired army officer beat a minor girl for plucking guavas. The shocking incident happened at Una in Himachal Pradesh. The victim is the daughter of a migrant. He beat the girl for plucking guava from the tree outside his house. The incident captured by Rohit, an officer in the merchant navy, is being widely shared on social media. However, more details about the army officer are not known.

The army officer, who saw the girl plucking guava, took her inside his house and then tied her hands to the staircase with a chain. The child is seen crying and begging Rohit to save her from his hands. Meanwhile, the retired army officer is seen justifying that the child was tied for stealing guava. Rohit is also seen criticizing the officer in the footage.


Rohit then informed the Child Helpline and the police. Rohit later revealed that the army officer confessed to the crime and apologized to the child's parents. The police who reached the spot questioned the officer and recorded the statements of the child's parents. The child was also subjected to a medical examination. The police said that a case has been registered against the officer and that the investigation is progressing.
