BENGALURU: The Karnataka government has appointed a special investigation team to clear the mystery surrounding the suicide of Confidant Group chairman CJ Roy. The case is being investigated by a large team led by DIG Vamsi Krishna. The Home Ministry's significant intervention comes amid growing suspicions that there may be something unnatural about Roy's death.
The team includes senior officials including Bengaluru South Division DCP Lokesh. The investigation team has been expanded to include experts from the CIT department in addition to the officers currently investigating the case.
The investigation team has summoned the family members and friends of C.J. Roy to record their statements. The statements from his office staff have already been taken. Shortly before Roy's death, he went into his room and closed the door, stating that he wanted to call his mother. However, the police are seeking clarification on whether he actually made that call. They are also examining his bank account details and recent financial transactions in detail.
The team is looking into whether Roy experienced any pressure in the days leading up to his death and if he had expressed any suicidal thoughts. The Karnataka Home Minister stated that the circumstances surrounding his death will be uncovered as soon as possible through a comprehensive investigation. The police believe that the establishment of a special team will significantly advance the investigation.
