
MUMBAI: Unidentified individuals opened fire outside the residence of Bollywood director Rohit Shetty in Mumbai. The incident took place in front of his residence in the Juhu area. Police confirmed that four gunshots were heard. The firing happened around midnight on Saturday. Mumbai Police have launched an investigation and provided special security to the house. The area around the residence is currently under police surveillance.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Police reached the spot immediately after the firing. The Mumbai Police Commissioner said that the Crime Branch and senior police officers are jointly investigating the case. The reason for the attack is still unclear, but police suspect the possible involvement of international criminal gangs. Rohit Shetty has not responded to the incident. It is also not clear whether he was inside the house at the time of the attack.
The firing has raised concerns about the safety of Bollywood celebrities. Recently, actor Salman Khan’s security was increased following attacks against him. Rohit Shetty made his directorial debut with the film 'Zameen', starring Ajay Devgn. He has directed several blockbuster films, including Singham, Golmaal and Chennai Express.
