KOZHIKODE: A major tragedy was averted due to the timely intervention of a bus driver. A child had a narrow escape in an accident. The incident happened on January 30 at Kodiyathur in Kozhikode. The CCTV visuals of the incident have emerged. The child was going to the hospital with her parents. The child stepped out of the auto and was seen running towards her mother, who was standing on the opposite side. Her father was then paying the driver the auto charge.

The child ran towards the bus coming from Kozhikode. The bus driver, who unexpectedly saw the child running, suddenly turned right and applied the brakes, thus averting a major tragedy. The footage also shows the child running away from the bus at this time. The driver's timely intervention averted a major accident.

Although the child is safe, bus driver Shanoj has not yet recovered from the trauma of that moment. Shanoj, who was mentally exhausted, joined for duty only today. Shanoj also clarified that parents should be extremely careful when taking their children out on the road.

‘The child was saved by the grace of God. I also have two children like this at my house. I got the video that day itself, but posted it in the WhatsApp group only today. Shared the video thinking that it would be a warning to the parents. I did not think that it would go viral. The child belongs to a Bengali family,' said Shanoj.
