Dispute over property; 16-year-old girl killed by father; Ummer taken into police custody

KASARAGOD: A Plus One student was hacked to death by her father. The incident took place in Kasaragod's Manjeswaram. The victim was 16-year-old Jumaila. The father, Ummer, has been taken into police custody. Initial information is that the murder took place during a family dispute.

The incident took place at around 5:30 pm on Monday. Ummer and his family were staying at Ummer's sister-in-law's house. On Monday, there was a dispute between Ummer and his sister-in-law's husband over property.

During the argument, Ummer attacked his sister-in-law's husband with a weapon. His daughter Jumaila tried to stop him and was hacked. It is reported that the accused was using drugs, including marijuana, at the time of the incident.
