ALAPPUZHA: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan said that if people fight in the name of caste, the Hindu community will slide further into decline. He stated that the majority community has remained isolated for a long time and that he himself has been subjected to numerous attacks. Vellappally mentioned this in an article published in Yoganadam, the mouthpiece of the SNDP Yogam.

Despite the NSS withdrawing from the unity, the SNDP is moving forward with hope. Natesan said that due to the influence of religious minority parties, the majority community has been neglected, and that like-minded people must come together.

‘To prevent such a tragic situation from being created, unity efforts are necessary. There is hope that this will become possible soon. Many do not realize that human pain and happiness are the same and that is Kerala’s misfortune. The majority community has remained isolated for a long time. I have been attacked many times. Those who attacked me were backstabbers from within the community itself.

When spoke unpleasant truths, I became unacceptable to many. It is doubtful whether there is anyone else in Kerala society who has been subjected to as much character assassination and humiliation as I have. The majority is experiencing pressure in the face of the organized strength of minorities. When I spoke about this, there were planned attempts to brand me a communalist and discredit me. The allegations related to my travelling in the chief minister’s car are part of this. Under the influence of religious minority parties, the majority has been sidelined at the levels of governance. Therefore, everyone must stand united,’ Vellappally Natesan wrote in the article.

Earlier, both Vellappally Natesan and NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair had stated that there would be an alliance between the NSS and SNDP Yogam. However, Sukumaran Nair later withdrew from the initiative.
