Youth killed in wild elephant attack in Thrissur

THRISSUR: A youth was killed in a wild elephant attack in Thrissur. The deceased has been identified as Shiju (35), a native of Mayiladumpara.

The incident occurred in the forest area of Peechi-Mayiladumpara. The attack took place when Shiju had gone into the forest to graze his goat. People who were with him ran in different directions after the elephant charged.

They later informed forest officials, following which a search operation was launched. Steps are currently underway to bring the body out of the forest.
