
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram Mayor VV Rajesh has said that action will be taken against spas operating illegally in the capital. Mayor VV Rajesh said that cross massage centres are widely operating under the guise of spas. The Medical Council will be informed about the doctor who is colluding. Information has been received that some policemen are friends with mafias, VV Rajesh said.
"The incident that took place under the cover of a spa centre in Thiruvalla has shocked the entire conscience of Kerala. Such centres operating illegally in various parts of Kerala will deliver a big blow. A discussion was held with the police in this context. Information was received that Thiruvananthapuram is also not free from this. All the spa licenses issued by the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation have been asked to be checked. Inspections will also be conducted there.
"The corporation and the police are jointly planning to make some interventions in this area. We will talk to top police officials. Cross-massaging is happening widely. The centres need masseurs and doctors. We have also received information that some doctors are abetting such things. They are under strict surveillance by the corporation and the police. The Medical Council will be informed. We have also received information about the police officers who have established links with such centres," the mayor said.
